Assigned to 324BS, 91BG, 8AF USAAF. Tailgunner of the famed "Memphis Belle" B-17 Bomber, the first to complete its 25 air mission tour without a casualty.

He was credited with shooting down two German fighter planes while on the "Belle", and with three others during the war.



Awards: DFC (2OLC), AM (5OLC), Bronze Star, PH, Asiatic-Pacific and American Campaign Medal, Good Conduct, WWII Victory, EAME (Bronze Star).
