Assigned to 324BS, 91BG, 8AF USAAF. Left waist gunner on B-17 41-24485 'Memphis Belle', his guns downed the 8th and final German fighter from the Belle. His diaries provided most of the accurate accounts of the missions. He and fellow crew members completed a war bond tour across the United States with the famous 'Belle' from June to September 1943.



Awards: DFC, AM (3OLC), WWII Victory, EAME.



Post war: Retired as a chemical engineer.
