William Baker Ferguson

Military

William Baker Ferguson, went by Baker, and often signed his name "Bake". There is also one letter to his parents from someone named Paul in Stalag 3 who calls him "Fergie". Baker was 25 years old at the time of the mission; he graduated from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington and Harvard Business School in Boston before joining the army in San Francisco where he worked at Wells Fargo. He did his training at Santa Ana, CA, Thunderbird Field Phoenix, AZ and Moffet Field, CA. His records indicate that his specialty was navigation, and this is what he always told us, that he was a navigator.
