Milo originally enlisted in the Naval Reserve but they were oversubscribed and he transferred to the Air Corps. After training he crewed in Nebraska and they flew their B-24 to join the Group at Attlebridge in England. During the summer of 1944 in addition to their bombing missions they ferried fuel to the Allied ground forces. After VE Day he was posted to St Petersburg Fla as a medical supply sergeant until his discharge in December 1945. Post war he worked briefly as a carpenter then returned to farming.
