Milton E Cowart
MilitaryStaff Sergeant Milton E. Jones was born June 6, 1907. His next of kin were his wife, Fay Jones, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Jones. He was from Fort Worth, Texas.
On June 6, 1944, he was the Flight Engineer aboard C-47 tail #42-24077 of the 435th Troop Carrier Group, 77th Troop Carrier Squadron, when it was shot down over Etienville, France. The entire flight crew of four men, and seventeen troops from the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, were killed in the crash.
He is buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth.
