'I was a member of the 377th Fighter Squadron 362nd Fighter Group, 9th Air Force. We flew out of Colchester (AAF Sta 159 Wormingford Essex) April 44 moved to AAF sta 412 Headcorn (Maidstone) Kent. Our group moved to A-12 Balleroi, France, in July 1944. I Flew 98 missions before returning April 45.



April, May and June 1944 flew Ftr sweeps and interdiction missions from England. Moved to Normandy Beach, July. Assigned XIX TAC, Covered by Ground Support missions Gen Patton's 3rd Army across France and into Germany. Flew 98 missions in Thunderbolt aircraft. Owe life to aircraft and ground crew.'
