Killed in Action (KIA) 13 Nov 1943 in Hudson AE531 while on detachment to RAF. Assigned to Replacement Control Depot.

Reported to group on 11 Apr 1943. He flew as copilot on Donald Whipple crew. He was the 52nd Officer to complete tour.

Lt Dooley completed 25 missions with the 306th and then went to the RAF's Air Sea & Rescue Unit. He left the 306thBG on 10/12/43 and his plane went missing over the North Sea on 11/13/43. Earlier on 28 July 1943 B-17 41-24502 crew crash landed at Suffok due to fuel shortage. A/C only slightly damaged.
