Hit by flak while bombing the target of Friedrichshafen on 18-Mar-44 and rapidly losing fuel, B-24 42-100284 turned towards Switzerland crash landed at Dubendorf. Interned. Whilst interned suffered abdominal problems necessitating surgery, died from complications of surgery. Died non Battle (DNB)
