William Curtis Melton Jr
MilitaryOn 6 Sept 1942 B-17F 41-24516 "Meltin' Pot' lost 2 engines off Londonderry after flight from Newfoundland. Then Captain Melton landed in shallow water and all crew members walked ashore. Plane was lost to high tide. He later flew 35 missions with the 306th BG.
