Military ROLL OF HONOUR

Killed in mid-air collision with another US aircraft. #44-6584 Killed in Action (KIA). Plane #44-6584 involved in accident on return. In Brussels area, plane flown by 2nd Lieutenant Hueter of 327th encountered prop wash and dropped into Schmidt's plane. Both planes spiraled down with Schmidt's plane breaking into 3 pieces. 1 parachute exited the plane. S/Sergeant Edward W. Bartley was the only survivor.
