On 21/02/1944 he was MADE Station Fire Marshall which included becoming the CO of 2122nd Engineer (Aviation) Fire Fighting Platoon. He served in this position, untrained in Fire Fighting, until 19/07/44. went back to Administration (2120) Chemical Officer (7314) and was promoted, we believe into HQ ETOUSA.
