Carl Gjelhaug served as a pilot with the 707th Bomb Squadron of the 446th Bomb Group, flying missions out of Bungay, England. He arrived in England November 1944
right out of training and departed July 1945. He left the Army Air Corp after the war, got his BA at Georgetown University, Washington DC and came back in the Air Force in time for the Korean War. He retired in 1978 from March AFB in Riverside, California, after having served primarily in 8th Air Force.
