MilitaryHad an inauspicious start to his service with the 505FS, suffering engine failure in the vicinity of Authon, France on his very first mission; 4 July of all days! He bailed out successfully and then managed to evade capture with the assistance of the French resistance. Returning to Fowlmere 22 days later. RTD. Credited with 2 x air kills, 3 x ground kills.
Awards: DFC, AM (11OLC), WWII Victory, EAME.
