MilitaryAssigned 336FS, 4FG 8AF USAAF. 30 combat missions. On an escort mission 15 miles NW of Stuttgart, shot down in P-51 43-6633 by Luftwaffe Leutnant Franz Koplik who was flying a Me109G-6. POW (Stalag Luft III, Sagan) MACR 5721.
Post war: Washington, DC 25 years with the National Transportation Safety Board. In the 1950's (DC-ANG) Air National Guard 113th FIS: Flew F-86s from Andrews AFB under ANG command of former 4th FG pilot Brigadier General Willard “Millie” Millikan.
Awards: SS, AM (3OLC), PH, POW, WWII Victory, EAME (2 x Battle Stars).
