Stuart Bernard Mendelsohn

Assigned to 324BS, 91BG, 8AF USAAF. After his pilot Lt Harold R Christensen was fatally incapacitated returning battle damaged from Schweinfurt in B-17 42-29741, Mendelsohn brought the ship and crew back to crash land at RAF Tangmere 14-Oct-43. 28 x missions. Shot down 31-Dec-43 in B-17 42-29895 'Black Swan'. Killed in Action (KIA). MACR 1975.
