Attacked by fighters and the pilot injured and several fires on board on mission to Brunswick on 30 Jan 1944, B-17G #42-31415. Returned with the fires extinguished but five of the crew had bailed out over Germany. Returned to Duty (RTD). Awarded The Silver Star.



B-17G #42-31166 'Miss Billie Jr' lost two engines after takeoff as the spare for an operational mission on 24 Mar 1944 and was forced to make a wheels up emergency landing in a field West of Nuthampstead, Returned to Duty (RTD).



Shot down 13 April 1944 in B-17 #42-97233, Prisoner of War (POW). Missing Air Crew Report #3874
