Samual Blessing overshot the the approach and ran off the end of the runway and collapsing the nose wheel upon return from a mission to Frankfurt am Main, GR in the B-24D, 42-40751, Touch of Texas. RTD. Earlier, as copilot, 19 Jul 43 while TDY to the 9th Air Force, in the B-24D, 42-40665, Ten High, was attacked by fighters. The crew bailed out near Malta. FTR. 19 Jul 44
