Shot down 13 May 1944 in B-17 #42-102548. While the formation was under attack from enemy aircraft, theplane left formation, dove directly down and disappeared through undercast; crashed near Zarnekla (7.5 miles South of Grimmen) Germany. MACR 4814 Killed in Action (KIA).
