Robert S Marquis
MilitaryOn his 35th mission Bob was serving as the substitute navigator on Ken Bickford's crew (plane 337833) when it was shot down on 11/09/44 while over Saarbrucken Germany. Bob didn't discuss share much about his service, but one tidbit he did share concerned the day he was shot down. Somehow he forgot his flight boots. Based upon the photo in his POW records he'd also forgotten where the barber was on base because his hair is very long, long enough to make Elvis Presley jealous.
