July 4, 1944 collision in P47#42-7950 while flying in no. 3 position. Both pilots bailed out suffering major injuries. Other a/c flown by 2Lt. Thomas J. Buttram, who was in no. 2 position. Accident occurred near Wellington, Shropshire about 2015hrs. Both pilots RTD.
