Made a forced landing due to poor weather SW of RAF Newmarket during a ferry flight on 4 Mar 1944 in B-17G #42-31187. RTD. Shot down by fighters just prior to the target Berlin and crshed S of Berlin on 6 Mar 1944 in B-17G #42-31896 'Hell and High Water'. Killed in Action (KIA).
