Personal knowledge. Robert Bassham was my father.
Army serial no. 0708241. Flew 35 combat missions, 15 as lead navigator, in the European theater of operations. Then served 9 months as medical training instructor for returning navigators at Ellington Field in Texas. Date of entry into active service: Feb. 5, 1944. Date of separation: Sept. 15, 1945. Training: Preflight: 8 weeks in Santa Anna, CA. Primary pilot: 4 weeks Phoenix, AZ. Aerial gunnery: 8 weeks Las Vegas. Advanced navigation: 18 weeks Mather Field CA. Navigation 6 weeks Ellington Field TX. After the war, he became a clinical psychologist and served many years as the Director of Psychological Services at the Children's Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. He passed away on June 5, 1994.
