Richard Hunter Field
Military ROLL OF HONOURAfter receiving hits to the wing on a mission to Leipzig on 20 Feb 1944 in B-17G #42-97500, some of the crew baled out on the return from the target. Killed in Action (KIA).
He resided in New York prior to the war at Westchester and joined USAAF in June 1942.
Richard was "Killed In Action" when his B-17 was hit by enemy flak and crashed in a forest South of Wohlmerstedt & two miles North of Billroda, Germany.
He was awarded a Purple Heart.
