Rouen, France 12 December 1942 Served as Pilot of B-17F 41-24585 "Wulfe Hund", 303BG/360BS on a mission to bomb the railroad marshalling yards at Rouen, France. The aircraft was damaged by flak and fighters and 1LT Flickenger managed to make an emergency landing on a field in France. He was captured as a POW. 6 of the crew evaded capture and 3 others were caputred as Prisoners of War.
