Air Medal w/Oak Leaf Cluster's
My Dad left his family's farm to join the war when he was 18. WWII and his experiences there had a profound effect on him. When the navigator bailed out of 'Sweet Dish' on December 5th, Dad went from tail gunner to navigator. Bernard was able to catch up with the pilot, Bob Roach, over the past few years. Dad died on March 4th, 2016. Bob, to my knowledge, is into his 90s and is doing well!
