'I can’t imagine being locked up as a prisoner and not knowing what tomorrow will bring. Additionally dad had an H stamped on his American dog tag which indicated that he was a Jew. Shot down 6 September 1943 in B-17F #42-30201 'Shedonwanna?', Prisoner of War (POW).



This was Dad's 6th mission and group was returning from bombing a munitions plant in Stuttgart. The plane was attacked by flak and German fighters and Dad bailed out over France and was promptly captured by a German soldier, interrogated in Regensburg, Germany and then transferred to Stalag VIIA and then Stalag XVIIB.
