1st Lieutenant Adelbert E. Dorsett was born February 26, 1922, the son of Andrew and Grace Dorsett. His hometown was Roselle, New Jersey. He was serving as the Bombardier aboard B-24 tail #42-95091 of the 389th Bomb Group, 567th Bomb Squadron, when it was downed by Flak over Saarbrücken, Germany, on May 27, 1944. The Liberator crashed Püttlingen, 4km N of Völklingen (near Saarbrücken), Germany. Initially buried at the Püttlingen cemetery, his remains were transferred after the war to the Lorraine American Cemetery at St. Avold, France.
