25-May-42 Assigned to 303BG/437BS as an Aerial Gunner at Gowen Field, Boise, Idaho. 303BG records do not indicate that he was permanently assigned to a crew at that time, but he trained with crews at Alamogordo Field, Alamogordo, New Mexico and at Biggs Field, El Paso, Texas. 303BG records do not indicate when he arrived at Molesworth, UK, but thought to be during October 1942.



He flew as a replacement gunner on B-17F 41-24607 "Jerry JinX", 303BG/427BS on 4 Operations (1 was aborted). Records indicate that he was permanently assigned to B-17F 41-24584 [GN-Q] 303BG/427BS on 3-Feb-43 and flew 22 missions with that crew. He completed a 28 x mission tour on 26-Jun-43.
