Flew on B-17G 'Los Angeles City Limits' 42-10718. On 10/7/44 while on mission to Schneeburg/Zwickau, Germany, the plane was hit on return and attacked by ME163's. Pilot gave order to bail (*) out and my uncle did. The plane limped back to England. He was a Prisoner of War (POW) at Stalag Luft IV, Groos-tychow Poland. He was released on 4/26/45.
