Louis A Takacs

First SGT , Louis A Takacs was the son of Mr and Mrs A Takacs, born 1920. On March 21st, 1941 Sgt Takacs enlisted in the Air Corps, and went to Scott Field for his basic training and also for assignment. He was assigned to the Orderly room as clerk and after 5 months he went to Keesler Field, Miss. and then on to St Pertersburgh, Florida where he became the chief clerk. On September 1st, 1942 he was promoted from chief to clerk to First Sargent and shortly afterwards left for Salt Lake City, Utah for overseas duty. After a brief stay there he left for Ephrata, Wash. where he joined the group when it was formed.
A First Sargent is responsible that such reports as morning report, sick report, duty roster and many other reports originating from squadron headquarters, are properly and timely prepared.
Connected individuals were under his command in the orderly room of the 710 Squadron from 1943-1945.
