Killed in Action (KIA) on 4 March 1943 in B-17F 42-5370, 91BG/324BS while serving as Co-Pilot. The crew's mission was the marshalling yards at Hamm, Germany. The plane was shot down by fighters in the Texel Island area of Holland. Killed in Action (KIA). Lt. Zubiri's body washed ashore June 27, 1943 near Oksby, Denmark. On 30 April 1948 he and other American airmen from Esbjerg were taken to Ardennes American Cemetery in BELGIUM. (Source: FAF)
