TSgt. Augustus B. Thompson was a B-24 Flight Engineer/Top Turret Gunner assigned to the B-24D, Celhalopdos, 41-23675, in the 330th Bomb Squadron, the 93rd Bomb Group, as part of the 8th Air Force, USAAF. He was Killed in Action (KIA) with his pilot Lt. Charles T. Moore and all crewmen, while temporarily assigned (TDY) to 9th Air Force, in North Africa, on a mission out of Gambia, Libya, in the B-24D, 41-23675, Celhalopdos. The plane was on it's way to it's target at Naples, Italy. It was lost (MIA) and went down over Naples. 10 MIA. 15 Feb 43. MACR 16372
