MilitaryShot down 22 June 1943 in B-17 42-29536 'Mary Ruth-Memories of Mobile'.
Pilot Kenneth Brown's 'Mary Ruth' was attacked by a large number of FW 190's , the plane spun down and exploded on the ground killing two of the crew. Brown became a POW at Stalag Luft 11 (?) for the duration, surviving the 'Death March' to Mooseburg where they were held until being released by Patton's Third Army in April 1945.
