MilitaryPrisoner of War (POW) crashed at Talgewilsten on 5 Dec 44 in B-17 #448518. While with 731BS, was in following incident: Upon landing at Deopham Green in B-17G #43-38201, co-pilot raised landing gear instead of flaps. (OOPS!) The 'co-pilot' was in fact left-seater riding in the right seat and 'whose unfamiliarity with co-pilot duties (!) was without doubt' a factor in the accident. Crew of five all RTD.
