Co-pilot, Ballinger Crew. 381st BG, 533rd BS, 8th AF. Shot down 4 July 1943 over Normandy while on bombing mission to Gnome-Rhone engine factory in LeMans, France in B-17 #42-29928.

Evaded to Switzerland where he served as a military attache at the American Legation in Berne until Jan. 1944. Escape to Spain in Feb. 1944. Returned to the US in Mar. 1944 and joined the USAAF Aircraft Ferry Service. After the war was a career USAF officer.
