Lt. John D. Cooley Jr., from Aberdeen, MD, enlisted in Baltimore on 28 November 1942. Assigned to the 368th Fighter Squadron on 23 January 1945, he flew 18 combat missions in P-51s before ending his tour of duty with the 359th Fighter Group in September 1945.
