Served at Wheeler Field, TH with 46th PS 15th PG. Only AAF pilot to fly with Navy

and Marine squadrons. First in VF-3 with LT Butch O'Hare MOH and at Guadalcanal

with VMF-223 flying F4F Wildcats. Awarded Bronze Star, 2 Navy Air Medals and Navy Presidental Unit Citation at that time.
