John Harold Moffitt
MilitaryShot down 26 July 1943 in B-17 42-30209. Plane crashed into North Sea. Picked up by British Shore Patrol. Returned. One of the young men on rescue boat asked Moffitt to sign a pound note which he kept. Forty years later, he tracked down Moffitt and they met in England.
Moffitt was shot down again 9 September 1943 in B-17 42-30362 'Wee Bonnie II. ' Prisoner of War for 21 months at Stalag 17B.
