Spent 4 months in hospital in Reims, France, 2 months at Stalag Luft VI, 4 months at Stalag Luft IV and 3 months at Stalag Luft I, Barth, Germany. Our regular pilot, M. H. Hayward, was on his last mission while flying co-pilot that day. The pilot evaded, 8 became Prisoner of War (POW)s including a photographer flying with us. Prisoner of War (POW) until 8 May 1945.

Shot down on 27th mission on 4/27/44 (it was our pilot's last one). Spent 4 months in hospital in Rheims, France. One month spent in Stalag Luft 6, 5 months in Stalag Luft 4 and the rest of the war in Stalag Luft 1 Barth. Was liberated by the Russians on 5/8/45.
