Jefferson, NC 28640, USA 25 September 2016 Mr. James Marvin Stump age 93, of Jefferson, NC died Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Blowing Rock Rehab & Extended Care Center in Blowing Rock, NC. Mr. Stump was born August 15, 1923 in , WV to James Lester and Sessie Williams Stump. Mr. Stump was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ilene Stump and brother, Ralph. Mr. Stump was a member of Chestnut Hill United Methodist Church. He graduated from NC State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He served in the US Army Air Corps and flew in B-17 bombers as a radio operator. He worked for the National Parks Service and travelled all over the United States. One of his favourite parks was Glacier National Park. He also worked as Ashe Airport Manager for many years. Mr. Stump is survived by: several nieces and nephews.
