James Hundley served as a bombardier with the 401st Bomb Squadron of the 91st Bomb Group out of Bassingbourn, England. On 2 November 1944, he was flying in B-17 'Jub Jub Bird' #42-31883 when it crashed at Leipzig and he was Killed in Action (KIA). He is buried in Luxembourg American Cemetery.
