1st Provisional Group

The 1st Provisional Group was established on 20 July 1942 at Lydda. It brought together the existing 9th Bomb Squadron and the Hal Bomb Squadron, which were operating the Middle East.
We are currently working on a site-wide upgrade which will be completed in September 2022

B-17’s hit Tobruk during 27/28 Jul, while B-24’s attack convoy in Mediterranean, claiming hits on 2 merchant ships
B-17 Flying Fortresses carry out a night attack on Tobruk, this is followed up by an attack on convoys in the Mediterranean carried out by B-24 Liberators.
