The wreckage of a B-17 Flying Fortress (MZ-X) of the 413th Bomb Squadron, 96th Bomb Group that has crashed at Dymchurch, Kent. Passed as censored 8 Feb 1944. Printed caption on reverse: 'No. 10. This crippled bomber, back from a raid over enemy territory [obscured by censor] was headed towards the sea by its pilot as he and the crew baled out. Instead, it fell on Dymchurch, 100 yards from the coast and many houses were damaged.' On reverse: Kent Messenger, Ministry of Information, US Army Press Censor E.T.O and US Army General Section Press & Censorship Bureau [Stamps].
