The burning wreck of Lieutenant Karl K. Shearer's 369th Fighter Squadron, 359th Fighter Group P-51 Mustang ('IV', serial number 44-11686) that crashed near Ashill airbase, near Watton in Norfolk, on the 13 January 1945. Lieutenant Shearer was killed in the crash. Ground crew stand at the back of the crater the aircraft dug into the earth as it crashed.
