The nose art of a B-25 Mitchell (serial number 43-27676) nicknamed "The Litte King" of the 310th Bomb Group, 12th Air Force. Frank Dean has handwritten on the reverse: 'The Little King, # 327676 B25J. This aircraft was assigned to me as crew chief while we were at Ghisonaccia, Corsica (Jan 1944 to April 1945). The insignia is from an American comic strip and was named by me in part because my first pilot assigned to this plane was H.C.King from Texas. The King in coloured as follows: 1-crown= yellow, 2- face & hands =pink, 3- musrache= black, 4- collar= white with black spots, 5- body= red, 6- bomb= olive drab, 7- outline= black, 8- streaks behind the king= black. As I recall there were 64 black bombs painted on the nose signifying missions flown at the end of the war. They were in groups of five [Dean has drawn three bombs, pointing nose down] similar to this. Frank Dean 12 April 1973.'
