F-5 Freedom Fighters of the USAF 7th Air Force are prepared for another strike against the Viet Cong in South Vietnam on the 20th of April 1966. The pilot of the aircraft nearest the camera is Colonel F.N. Emory. Handwritten caption on reverse: 'Pilot: Col. F.N. Emory.' Printed caption on reverse: 'Preparing For Strike ... Air Force maintenance men prepare F-5 Freedom Fighters for a strike against the Viet Cong in South Vietnam. The small, relatively simple fighter-bombers - called Skoshi Tigers by their pilots - are going to be kept in Vietnam on a permanent basis as part of the 7th Air Force strike force.
