Lt. John Kriegshauser in 1942 during flight-training (USAAF). He was posthumously awarded the DFC for saving lives on the ground when B-17 'Mi-Amigo' (364th BS/305BG) crashed in Endcliffe Park, Sheffield, on February 22nd 1944 returning badly damaged from an abortive decoy mission to Aalborg, Denmark. All ten crew KIA.
