Ciofalo has enclosed a letter with image: 'The crew of a B-17 Bomber (Oh Hardluck). Stationed at Sneadenheath [sic] England. The crew and bomber is with the 96 Bomb Group, 339 Bomb Squadron. Here is some information concerning the crew of this bomber: Back Row- Left to Right- Mr Frost. Mr Sereno, Mr Thompson, Mr Keith. Front Row- Left to Right- Capt Stanton, Mar Sal Ciofalo, Mr Hernandez, the rest of the crew is missing. This bomber and crew made the shuttle mission to Russia and also was on missions to oil refineries of Merseburg, and we took severe losses.'
