The sign next to this memorial reads: "This beautifully constructed plaque is made from coloured granite with stainless steel inserts. It was originally on site 1, the 351st Squadron living area. When the base was being demolished in the 1950's, the plaque was saved and moved to a house in Bedlingham, Norfolk. It remained in the garden there until 2010, when the owner contacted us offering the plaque to the Museum. We will probably never know for sure who made it, but it was possibly made by 351st personnel who had stonemasonry skills".
