Crew chief Vincent Hrupek, 38th Fighter Squadron55th Fighter Group, stands by his charge - P-38 Lightning 43-28341 CG-O assigned to pilot Lt, Willard L Kreft of Peoria, IL. Lt Kreft named his P-38 "Peoria Pulverizer" in honour of his Hometown. This P-38 was reassigned to the then Capt. John D Landers of Joshua, TX who would re-christen it "Texas Longhorn".
